“At least it was the blunt end and not the sharp part of the machete that hit me,” my Nigerian colleague grinned as he recalled God’s protection in a hostile country. Rebels trying to silence his witness was just one of many stories he told.

Eventually, he leaned toward the camera and told the students watching his message, “I plead with you…don’t give up. Christ is worth it.”

Silence. Awe.

Stories matter. They strengthen our faith and call us to action and connect us to believers with radically different realities. Recently, I shared that the Teten family is moving to Colorado as I step into a new role as Global Communications Officer.

My responsibility is to strengthen and share the story of what God is doing among The Navigators. From enduring attacks in Nigeria, to employing rescued women in Nepal; from an Afghan choosing Christ in the face of threats, to an African laying down his PhD to serve the poor — these stories matter because God gets the glory.

As we make this transition, we want to say THANK YOU. For more than 20 years, you’ve shared a front row seat with us in the lives of college students. You are the reason we were able to show up in these young lives day-after-day. Thank you.
